In order to hear the bowl, you have to play it, and so there will be discussions on Metal and Crystal Bowl history. What are the elements that go into bowls? Which bowls, Metal or Crystal calls to you? Why? How do you listen to what a bowl may be telling you? For the best way to understand any bowl (or yours) on a deeper level is to understand where it comes from and why it was created?
We’ll also cover different playing techniques and utensils for creating sound and how each affects the bowl(s) and you. In so doing we will also discover within ourselves what moves us and where, how to know when we are in the sweet spot and when we are pulling for information. Not surprisingly, we will also be covering the Chakras and how the bowls work with set ones, but how they also connect with so many others at the same time.
One of the best ways to be clear to receive is to start in a clear environment and so setting your personal Sacred Space will also be covered. What serves you best so you can honour you, your meditation, and your deeper connection? What and how does your space look and feel. What are the parameters that facilitate your deeper connection with your Sacred Vessel, your body?
In a group we’ll each experience the joy of letting the bowl show us how sound calms the mind bringing us to those places within that need addressing. These deeper meditation practices are the original reason the bowls were created with the added benefit of receiving insights into yourself. It is why these bowls have been around for 1000’s of years!
If you have a special bowl of your own please bring it along. For those of you still looking for the right one, Bowls will be supplied by Akasha’s Den and/or Mark. If you are considering purchasing a bowl this is an excellent opportunity to connect with a bowl, join with it and know it before purchasing. If you choose to purchase a new singing bowl during the workshop the Den is offering a 10% discount.
There is always time for discussion and sharing though the first part of the day while we cover background information and we set the vessel for the rest of the day.
A lunch break is included and we recommend to take the break outdoors for fresh air. If you bring your lunch you’re welcome to have it at the Den but we still recommend fresh air and the lake is only three blocks away to enjoy a nice grounding walk! There are a few coffee shops/restaurants within one block radius that are reasonably priced for lunch. Please dress comfortably and in layers so you can leisurely enjoy the day and easily adjust to the room temperature as it fluctuates with the energy. Bring slippers if you like, as you will be required to remove your shoes if the weather is wet. Socks, shawls and blankets are available for your use. This is your day of exploration to ultimately cultivate and connect with Self.
Mark first learned about Singing bowls while living in India in the early 80’s and now using Shamanic journeying techniques learned in the Canadian Arctic and Vancouver Island, lessons learned from studying Kabbalah for the past 4 years, Pure Presence, and being a Level Three Reiki practitioner Mark combines and shares an intuitive approach to these wonderful instruments. He looks forward to sharing these seemingly simple yet deep reaching instruments with you.
